SLS | Our services

We pride ourselves on offering a first class service to our clients.

Everyone who works for SLS has experienced the language learning process from both sides: first as a learner and later as a teacher.

We keep this experience in mind when creating and delivering our courses and endeavour to make the lessons challenging, practical, and most importantly, enjoyable!

The corner stone to the success of our Spanish and English Language training courses is carefully prepared, well-structured and interesting lessons which are of a consistently high standard and encourage learner engagement.

It is our policy, wherever possible, to assign tutors for the duration of a course as we believe that building a strong tutor/learner relationship is an integral part of effective learning.

Undoubtedly the most effective method of language learning, you will be able to work with your tutor and focus on your own needs whilst progressing at your own pace.

Many of our clients enjoy group training sessions and the opportunities for realistic language interaction that these offer. Whilst we recommend that 8 to 10 people is the maximum group size we encourage smaller groups of 4 or 6 as this optimises the time available to each learner.

Over the last several years telephone language training has really come into its own. We can call you at pre-agreed times that suit your timetable and workload. The use of the Internet and e-mail enhances telephone language training as our tutor can send you work through these media which you can then both discuss during the session. This is an intensive method of study and sessions usually last a maximum of 30 minutes.

We provide an accurate and reliable translation service. Translation is charged per target language word (i.e. the language we are translating into) and the rate will vary depending on the level of language and the area of specialism. Our areas of practice include but are not limited to: Banking and Finance, Training, Immigration Web Pages, Advertising, Certificates and Medical documents.

We currently provide a Consecutive Interpreting service. In consecutive interpreting (CI), the interpreter speaks after the source-language speaker has finished speaking. The speech is divided into segments, and the interpreter sits or stands beside the source-language speaker, listening and taking notes as the speaker progresses through the message. When the speaker pauses or finishes speaking, the interpreter then renders a portion of the message or the entire message in the target language. This form of interpreting can be useful if you are visiting clients or they are visiting you and you want the flexibility to be able to move from place to place without using simultaneous interpreting equipment such as earphones and sound booths.
